1 pm: Fresh Gale and dark cloudy Weather A heavy head Sea – Several Albatrosses and small blue Petterels or Silver Birds about the Ship
4 pm: Hazey Weather
5 pm: The Pumps worked as usual
7 pm: Squally – In 4th Reef Main topsail
8 pm: Fresh Gale & very dark cloudy Weather
10 pm: A Hand as usual at the Jib-boom
12 mid: A Fire kept all Night in the Galley
2 am: Squally with frequent Showers
4 am: Fresh Gale & Cloudy – some Rock-weed seen
6 am: Out 4th Reef Main topsail
7 am: A Number of large brown Albatrosses and Silver Birds about the Ship
9 am: Cleaned below and Aired with Fires – Wort at the usual Time – Sailmakers repairing the old Mainsail
10 am: At 10 sett the Mizen topsail – A Cask of Spruce Beer broached and given instead of Wine
12 noon: Fresh Gale & Cloudy Weather The Assistant near two Miles astern – Clewed up the Fore & Main & handed the Mizen topsail bore way and Spoke her All well on board hauled to the Wind and Made Sail again
