4 pm: Coiled way and bent the Bower Cables
6 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual (water let into the ship to about 18 inches)
2 am: Sprung up a light breeze
4 am: At 4 found a Shark hooked to a line astern – Lost it in attempting to get into the ship
6 am: Moderate breezes and dark cloudy weather set the Fore Top Mast & Top Gallant Steering sail – Scrubbed the 2nd Division of Hammocks
8 am: Light showers of rain – Clean swept below In Top Gallant Steering Sails – At 9 thick weather with showers of rain
10 am: At 10 Fresh gales, in Fore Top Mast steering sail & 1st reef Top Sails – People employed working up Junk, Carpenters repairing Small Cutter
11 am: At ½ past 11 less wind; set Fore & Fore Top Mast steering sails Served fresh Pork and Plantains
12 noon: At Noon fresh gales & cloudy Assistant in company
