Bond's Providence Logbook Sep 15, 1791

Remarks &c Thursday 15th September 1791

 1 pm: Rainy and looking squally in ye SE

 2 pm: Made and shortened sail occasionally on the appearance of squalls

 4 pm: Sat the lower & Fore Top Mast Steering sails.

 5 pm: More clear. People employed making Points and gaskets. Saw a Carey Chicken (Storm finch) and several other Sea birds

 6 pm: At 6 cloudy with Lightning in the SW. in 1st reefs and down Steering sails.

 9 pm: Unsettle weather – taken aback.

11 pm: Lightning to the Northward

 1 am: Strong ripplings

 4 am: Light airs and calm at times. Dark to the Northward.

 6 am: Set Steering sails and Royals.

 7 am: Saw some Dragon flies and a Butterfly. Employed making Mats and Points.

 8 am: Up all Chests and washed & cleaned below

10 am: At 10 passed through some Fishes Spawn which extend East & West as far as could be seen.

11 am: A light increasing breeze

12 noon: At Noon all sails set the Assistant in company
   Latitude Observed: 10°09′ North
