Providence Logbook Jul 31, 1793

Remarks Wednesday 31st July 1793 St. Albans

 1 pm: Fresh Gale and Cloudy Weather. Made the Assistants Signal to make more Sail.
At ½ past One the Lizard Lights bore true North about 5 Leagues. Passed a Danish Frigate

 7 pm: Squally with Rain. In 1st Reefs

 9 pm: Thick Misty Weather

12 mid: Foggy with Rain.

 4 am: Constant Rain and very thick Weather

 7 am: Weather Cleared. Portland NWbN, High Land of St. Albans North. Sounded 30 fathoms Gravel. The Bill NWbN. The Extremes of the high land of St. Albans NbW to NNE off Shore 5 or 6 Leagues

10 am: Fine Weather Exercised Great Guns, and dried all wet things. Passed on a Wind an English Frigate.

12 noon: Very fine Weather. Needle point NNE¾E St. Catharines EbN½N off Shore 6 Leagues. Sounded 27 fathoms Course Sand and Stones, some of them Flint.
