7 pm: Fresh gale and Squally – in steering Sails
8 pm: Ditto Weather
9 pm: In Top Gallant Sails
11 pm: Squally dark to the Northward made the Assistants Signal to go a head & try for soundings – Hard rain – up fore sail In 2d Reefs Topsails – at 1 in 3d Reefs Topsails
3 am: Squally with Rain
5 am: Fresh Gale and dark cloudy weather with much haze – Out 3d Reefs & set Top Gallant Sails – Served thick portable Soup gruel for breakfast – Saw a man of war bird and other Sea birds & flying fish
8 am: at 8 Saw the Island of Hispaniola bearing NNW washed the Gund, Orlop and Cockpit decks & aired with fires – Sailmaker about the awning – Saw Grampuses & Porpoises – served Krout
12 noon: At Noon Fresh Gale and fine weather with haze Assistant in Company – South
