Moored in Kingston Bay St. Vincents – 1793

Remarks Thursday January 24th

 1 pm: Moderate breeze and rainy weather with thick haze and squalls from the Land at times

 3 pm: PM. Moderate breeze and fair weather – moored Ship with the Stream to the Westward in 23 fathoms Sand and muddy bottom WNW & ESE – Berkshire point N81°W distant 1½ Miles Berkshire Fort N64°W – Dorchester fort on the Hill N61°E – SE Extremity of the Bay S5°E distant 2 Miles – Ships draught of Water Forward 14 Feet..10 Inches Abaft 15..04

 1 am: Received water per Large Cutter

 4 am: AM. Cleaned below and loosed sails to dry – Unbent the small Sails – sent 21 Tubs & 19 Pots of bread fruit plants on shore

 9 am: Sent a Party to haul the Seine – no success

11 am: Unbent the Fore Sail & bent the second best
