Flinders's Providence Logbook Nov 22, 1792

Remarks Thursday November 22nd H.M.S. Providence

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes & Cloudy Weather

 2 pm: People blacking the rigging

 3 pm: Carpenters painting the Companion

 4 pm: Ditto Weather – Water let into the Ship and pumped out again to ventilate the Ship

 6 pm: Set the Starboard Studding sails – Saw a Cape Hen

 8 pm: Moderate Breezes and cloudy Weather

 9 pm: Took in the Starboard Lower Studding sail, the Assistant scarcely able to keep her Station

12 mid: Ditto Weather

 2 am: Squally – Took in all but the Fore topmast studding sail

 4 am: Daybreak – Set the Fore royal and made all possible sail.

 6 am: Upper Decks washed as usual.

 8 am: Hazey Weather Aired in the Cockpits with Fires – People about the rigging and picking Oakum. Sailmakers making Canvass screens for the Greenhouse – Scraped the Quick work of the Quarter Deck. – Saw Albatrosses & Careys Chicken

12 noon: At Noon Fresh Breezes & fair Weather
