Flinders's Providence Logbook Nov 6, 1792

Remarks Tuesday November 6th H.M.S. Providence

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes and fair Weather Set Top Gallant studding sails

 2 pm: ccrs cleaning the Well and putting fresh Coats upon the Pumps

 3 pm: People greasing the Topmasts Topsail sheets &c

 4 pm: Saw an Albatross

 5 pm: At 5 Thomas Lickman (Marines) Departed thi9s Life in the [blank] year of his Age. his Disease was a Flux caught at Timor

 7 pm: In Studding sails and 1st reefs

 8 pm: Dark Sky to the Eastward

12 mid: Fine cloudy Weather

 4 am: Ditto Weather Out all reefs, and set Studding sails – Saw a Careys Chicken Sheerwaters & Tropic Birds

 8 am: At 8 Got all things up from below, washed and cleaned fore and aft.

 9 am: At 9 the Body of the deceased was committed to the Deep, with all Decency. the Marine Officer reading the Service over him – Exercised great Guns – Sailmakers mending [Hamacoes/Hammocks]

12 noon: At Noon Fresh Breezes and fair Weather with Haze
