Flinders's Providence Logbook Nov 2, 1792

Remarks Friday November 2nd H.M.S. Providence

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes and cloudy Weather with Haze

 2 pm: People employed as before

 4 pm: Fair Weather with dark Clouds in the SW

 5 pm: Tobacco served

 6 pm: In 1st reefs Top Gallant and Main Top mast Studding sails

 8 pm: Ditto Weather

10 pm: Cloudy

12 mid: Broken Clouds flying over

 1 am: Heavy Clouds rising to the Eastward and threatning a Squall. Took in the Studding sails

 3 am: Wind settled in the NEbE – Set the Studding sails on the Starboard side

 5 am: At Daybreak, Out reefs and made all sail

 6 am: Saw some Tropic Birds

 8 am: An increasing Breeze Weather much clearer – Ships Company shifting their Hammocks and airing their Bedding – Carpenters caulking the after Part of the Fore castle and under the windlass, which is unshipped for them – Saw three Birds like Gulls

12 noon: At Noon Moderate Breezes and Hazey Weather
