4 pm: Hazey – ¼ past 6 the Assistant made the Signal to denote Danger – Saw a Shoal bearing SWbW to WSW about 2 Miles – Hauled to the Wind on the Starboard Tack – Made the Assistants Signal to come within Hail. she saw teh Shoal from S10°W to S75°W no other Danger in sight
6 pm: ½ past 6 Hove too and sounded. No Ground with 94 Fathoms of Line out – In 1st reefs and shortened Sail
11 pm: Several Noddies caught
12 mid: The Assistants Signal to Tack, answered Tacked and stood after her
2 am: At 2 Tacked Ship per Signal
4 am: Tacked per Signal
6 am: At ¾ past 6 Bore away – the Assistant leading – Saw the Shoal from the Mast head WbyN
8 am: At 8 the Shoal from the Mast head bore WNW 2 or 3 Leagues – Not seen from the Deck ½ past 8 Spoke the Assistant per Signal
9 am: At 9 More Breakers from the Masthead on the Lee bow and beam – ¼ past 10 Southermost Point of the Breakers in sight SbyW¼Squall – Tacked per Signal and spoke the Assistant
11 am: Saw Boobies and Porpoises
12 noon: At Noon Fresh Breezes & cloudy hazey Horizon The Breakers just in sight
from the Topmast head NNW about 6 Miles
