1 pm: Light Airs inclinable to Calm – The Cutter hoisted out and sent on board the Assistant for Lieutenant Portlock
4 pm: An increasing Breeze and fine open Cloudy Weather Cape Hens, a few Albatrosses and Silver Birds about the Ship
7 pm: Shortened Sail Lieutenant Portlock returned in the Cutter – Hove too, in Boat & made Sail
8 pm: At 8 Moderate Breezes and Cloudy but not unpleasant Weather
11 pm: Fresh Breezes, In Fore Top Gallant sail and 1st Reef topsails
12 mid: A Fire kept all Night in the Galley
2 am: Cloudy Weather
4 am: Fresh Breezes and Cloudy Weather
5 am: Saw several Albatrosses
6 am: Took in the Main Top Gallant sail
8 am: Cleaned below and aired with Fires
9 am: Fresh Gale and cloudy Weather In 2nd & 3rd Reefs of the Fore and 2nd of the Main topsail
10 am: Tacked Ship to the Southward
11 am: Wort served as usual – Saw a flock of Albatrosses upon the Water a large Patch of Rock-weed & a Cape Hen
12 noon: At Noon – Fresh Gale and Dark cloudy Weather
