Bond's Providence Logbook Jan 3, 1793

Remarks &c Thursday 3rd January 1793

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and fine weather

 2 pm: Sailmakers employed as before. Saw a gannet booby.

 4 pm: Ditto Weather served Tobacco to the ship's company. Unbent the best and vbent the old Fore Top Mast staysail

 8 pm: Cloudy – In royals.

12 mid: Frequent showers of small rain.

 3 am: Heavy showers of rain.

 4 am: Light breezes and thick cloudy weather

 5 am: Moderate and fair weather set royals. Saw flying fish.

 7 am: Served the customary breakfast.

 8 am: Ditto Weather cleaned below and aired with fires. Exercised great guns and small arms. Sailmakers repairing the Mizen Top sail; Carpenters fixing swivel stocks; people making Mats & spinning spunyarn. Served krout; and broached a cask of Spruce beer.

12 noon: Moderate breezes and cloudy weather the Assistant in company
