1 pm: Moderate breezes and fine weather opened a Cask of Otaheitean Pork which still continued to be excellent.
4 pm: Read the Articles and punished John Curry Seaman, with 18 lashes for Theft
6 pm: In starboard steering sails and worked the Pumps as usual. Small Nautili seen on the water as before
7 pm: Hazy weather
8 pm: The trade increasing as usual every night
10 pm: Cloudy
12 mid: Fresh trade
4 am: Cloudy – at 5 made all possible sail. Saw Tropic birds and a few brown Sheerwaters
7 am: Served the usual breakfast, and clean swept below.
8 am: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather – Saw an Albatross and Sheerwater. Carpenters employed painting the Quick work of the Fore Castle and the [?]; Gunners painting Gun Carriages &c on the Quarter Deck, & Sailmakers about the old Main Top Sail. Seamen strapping spare blocks &c. Passed a Portuguese Man of War (Nautilus) and much Tangle Weed. Broached a cask of Spruce Beer.
