Bond's Providence Logbook Dec 6, 1792

Remarks &c from Timor to St. Helena 6th December 92

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and fine weather

 4 pm: Made ye Assistant's signal to come within hail – Spoke the Assistant and found all well on board. Saw whales & Porpoises; and a right whale

12 mid: Shortened sail, and sounded under Top Sails 248 fathoms no ground – ¼ past 12 made sail and bore away her course.

 3 am: Fresh breezes and fine weather all sail out.

 4 am: Cloudy weather Saw Albatrosses, Sheerwaters, Carey Chicken, & Pintada birds.

 6 am: Passed brown scum and a Fin back Whale. Saw Porpoises also.

 7 am: Set ye Starboarfd steering sails.

 8 am: Served ye usual breakfast. Sailmakers employed repairing Main Top Sail; Carpenters caulking & Painting the Quick work &c. – Up all Chests & Bags, and had a thorough clean below. Aired with Brodies stoves – Served out Sour Krout and broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer. Sick list about 8 in number, and the Plants in good order notwithstanding the cold (kept from the exterior air)

12 noon: Strong breezes and cloudy. Assistant in company
