Bond's Providence Logbook Dec 5, 1792

Remarks &c Wednesday 5th December 1792

 1 pm: Strong gales with thick rain or mist.

 2 pm: Fine weather saw Albatrosses, Pintada birds, Sheerwaters, Carey Chickens and silver birds (the white Petteral) – made more sail. The head sea going down; at ½ past 3 out 3rd reef Fore & Main Top Sails – at 4 cloudy weather – Swayed up Fore Top Gallant Mast, Top Gallant Yards, and set the sails.

 6 pm: Out 2nd reef Main & Mizen Top Sails – Worked the Pumps as usual

 8 pm: Fresh gales and cloudy

 3 am: Moderate breezes and fair weather set the Fore & Fore Top Mast Steering sailo

 4 am: Cloudy – made all sail. Saw several whales and some fish spawn.

 7 am: Served the usual Breakfast.

 8 am: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather cleaned below and aired with Fires. Read the Articles of War, and punished John Divers with 7 lashes

11 am: Served Sour Krout, and Portable Soup in the Pease for Dinner. Sailmakers employed and Carpenters caulking the Upper Deck. Saw Albatrosses Sheerwaters, Pintada and Silver birds. Served slops to the Ships Company.

12 noon: Moderate breezes and fine weather Brig in company.
