Remarks &c in Matavai Bay Otaheite 10th April

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and fair weather – at 1 veered away and moored ship a Cable each way – the best Bower to the NE & the small Bower to the WSW. – Several Canoes came alongside to Traffick

 6 pm: Bearings when moored – end of the reef N9°·30′W – Point Venus N30°E. The Heads of Tarra, East end S3°W. West end S25°W. The extremes of the Isle of Moreea from S6°W to S88°W High Mountain S76W
Ships Draught of water Foreward 14 Feet·3 Inches, Abaft 16·3

11 pm: At 6 down Top Gallant Yards

 4 am: Throughout the night Light winds and fine weather – at morn Calms.

 6 am: Edeea the Queen with some chiefs visited the ship and were very assiduous in making tyo's (friends)

10 am: Launch made a turn of water – Served Breadfruit, Cocoa-Nuts & fresh Pork to the ship's company. And and [sic] unbent the small sails & steering sails – Broached a puncheon of Spruce Beer

12 noon: At Noon moderate breezes and fine weather
