Bond's Providence Logbook Oct 5, 1791

Remarks &c Wednesday 5th October 1791

 1 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy with a sourtherly swell

 3 pm: Saw a number of Porpoises and some Nautili called by the sailors, Portuguese Men of War.

 8 pm: Fresh gale and hazy

11 pm: Squally with small rain, in Top Gallant Sails. A fire in the Galley during the night

12 mid: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather

 5 am: Ditto Weather the air cool and pleasant. Out 2nd reef Main & Mizen Topsails – Saw a Man of War bird, other sea fowl, and many Flying fish.

 8 am: Fresh gale and hazy weather.

 9 am: Cleaned below and aired with fires.

10 am: Passing squalls with small rain. Saw many Porpoises

12 noon: Fair weather the Assistant in company.
   Latitude Observed 3°·29′ South
