1 pm: Light Airs and Cloudy Weather
4 pm: Blacked the Bends.
6 pm: Moderate and Cloudy
7 pm: The Sail we saw this Morning appeared very suspicious. As I did not like to lie by for the Night we lay all Night at our Quarters.
10 pm: Many luminous Spots on the Water
4 am: No sight of the Ship we saw over night.
5 am: Saw a Sail in the NE. One in the SW
7 am: Drizling Rain. Served Hot Breakfast as usual
9 am: Sounded 60 fathoms fine Reddish Sand & black Specks
10 am: Saw a Brig in the SE made the Signal to Chase.
12 noon: Fine Weather. Assistant and Ships in Company as before
Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer.
Sounded 65 fathoms light coloured Sand with black specks and a Second Cast Grey Sand &
Ouze scarce any would come up with the lead.
