1 pm: Strong Gales and fair Weather. Out Reefs of the Courses.
2 pm: Unbent the Fore Sail and Main Top Sail and bent the best.
3 pm: Sailmakers employed repairing Top Gallant Sails.
4 pm: Saw a few Pintada Birds Albetrosses and Sheerwaters.
6 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and Ventilated with the Pumps.
8 pm: Expecting the Wind to come from the SW, I took this favorable chance of standing to the Southward to enable me to lie well up for the Cape on the next tack.
8 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast & Portable Soup in the Pease for Dinner.
10 am: Washed and Cleaned Ship and dried well with Fires.
12 noon: Fair Weather with Strong Gales. Under Double Reef Main Top Sail 3 Reefs in
the Fore and 2 in the Mizen Topsail.
Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer.
