Providence Logbook Nov 12, 1792

Remarks Monday 12th November 1792 Towards [Cape of Good Hope]

 1 pm: Fresh Gale and fair Weather. In Top Gallant Steering Sails.

 2 pm: Many Squids and Bonetos, Albecores and a Species of Whale.

 4 pm: Very thick Haze about the Horizon.

 5 pm: Ventilated with the Pumps as usual.

 6 pm: In Studding Sails and shortned Sail for the Assistant.

 8 pm: In 1st. Reefs.

10 pm: In 2nd Reefs. Heavy Dew Falling.

 5 am: Very hazy Weather and Moist Air, passed through some Scum.

 6 am: Saw Some Albetrosses.

 7 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast. Bore Cole and Portable Soup thickned with Oatmeal for Dinner. Served Vinegar.

 9 am: Cleaned below and Aired well with Fires.

10 am: Hand Picking Oakum.

12 noon: Fresh Gales and very Hazy Weather and Moist Air. Under Double Reefs the Assistant being not able to keep up with more Sail.
