Providence Logbook Aug 28, 1792

Remarks Tuesday 28th August 1792

 1 pm: Light Winds and fine Weather with haze.

 2 pm: Exercised Marines at small Arms and fired.

 4 pm: Unbent the Old and bent the next best Fore Sail. Saw a Mother Careys Chicken and many Porpoises

 5 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and Worked the pumps to Ventilate the Ship.

 7 pm: Shortned Sail to Double Reefs.

12 mid: A Dew

 5 am: Out Reefs and made all possible Sail

 6 am: Saw Tropic Birds and two Noddies.

 8 am: Fair Weather with a great Haze. Served Hot Breakfast.

 9 am: Sailmakers repairing Old Main Top Sail. Saw a large Patch of Rock Weed and a piece of Wood.

10 am: Washed and Cleaned Ship

12 noon: Fair and extremely hazy. Long Swell from the SE.
  Assistant in Company & a head on the look out.
  I am now on a Meridian nearly with Cul de Sac.
