HKFCoursesWindsRems Monday 21st. Jany 1788 Observations
16 SWNEBEFresh Breezes & a fine pleasant Trade but exceedingly hazy. I alter'd my Course to the Westward because I was within the limits of St. Iago [Santiago, Cape Verde Islands] but the evening continued so hazy could only see the looming of it at Sun Down. I did not choose to loose my time & therefore at 6 o'clock I again Steered to the Southd so as to make all Sails and make the most of a fine Wind.
