[?] us to be bound that we will [? ? ? ?] [?] we set out in search of oysters which we found a greater plenty than we did at Restoration Isle Mr Purcel was the first that fill'd his bag — and set off toward the Boat. I soon followd him with another bag - Mr Purcel had got to the Boat a little before me but when I was upon the Rock, with the oysters at my back, I heard a great noise in the boat Captn Bligh calling some body a damn scoundrel [I?] that have brought you here when if I had not been with you — you would have all perish'd, yes sir the carpenter said — if it had not been for you we should not have been here — Whats that you say sir — I say sir if it had not been for you
we should not have been here — you damn'd Scoundrel what do you mean — I am not a scoundrel Sir the carpenter said. I am as good a man as you in that respect—when Captn Bligh snatch up a cutlass and went forward in the Boat and told the carpenter to take another, the carpenter said no sir you are my officer — by this time I had got into the Boat - when I could not help laughing - to see Captn Bligh swaggering with a cutlass over the carpenters head — when I said — no fighting here — I put you both under an arrest — Captn Bligh turn his conservation on me
