Corrections. — The date of the mutiny on ship Ploughboy was last week given as 1857. It should have read 1837. . . . .
For the Inquirer and Mirror.
Nantucket, March 18, 1889,
Mr. Editor: In your issue of the 16th, the piece on "The Mutiny of the Ploughboy" is very interesting, but your date 1857 must be wrong. My father was in the "Ploughboy" two voyages between 1830 and 1840, first as a green-hand, and second (the one of the Mutiny) as third mate. Father died at sea 1857, mate of the ship "Omega." It is possible that "1837" would be about right for date of mutiny. Respectfully,
J.G. Remsen. [We were in error as to the date, 1837 being the time the mutiny occurred. — Ed.] — The Inquirer and Mirror. (Nantucket, Mass.) (Mar 23, 1889) Page 2.
