Mesrs. Willett & Hamlen received a cable message from Peele, Hubbell & Co., Manila, yesterday, stating that the ship Gold Hunter, Capt. Joshua Freemanm master, was wrecked, and will prove a total loss. The crew were saved. The vessel was bound from Cardiff to Hong Kong. The Gold Hunter was built of oak and mixed woods, in Waldoboro, Me., in October, 1867. She was 1,258 tons burden, and drew 22 feet of water. She had double desck and beams, was rated "1" at Lloyds, and belonged to Joseph Clark & Son, of Boston.
