Having now done my utmost by Publick enquiries and notice to get a Vessel to proceed with the Officers and Men under my Command to Java at the lowest expence. On the 1st I thought it best for His Majesty's Service to purchase one for 1000 Rix Dollars. This was the lowest price I could get any one at that was safe to proced to sea in and that wanted so few Repairs. She was to be complete for Sea with Sails, Rigging and two Anchors and Cables the assistance of my Carpenter included, I therefore directed her to be got to a proper place for repairing and my Carpenter to go to work on the 3d following with some Chinese, and called her the Resource.
