Tobin's Providence Logbook Dec 15, 1792

[H M Ship Providence from Timor towards] St. Helena – 1792

Saturday December 15th

 1 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather – hauled in the Steering Sails

 4 pm: Mustered, and took an account of the Peoples cloaths – Made the Assistants Signal to come withing hail, found all well on board – worked the Pumps as usual and wetted the decks after sunset – Fresh breeze and cloudy weather

 5 am: Dark cloudy weather – at ¼ past 5 in starboard Steering Sails, & set the Larboard ones – Scrubbed the Watches bags – Saw a brown Sheerwater and many porpoises, also a large quantity of fish spawn – Served the usual Breakfast – Washed the Gun Deck, and cleaned the Orlop & Cockpits – Aired with the brodies Stoves

11 am: Bent the Bower & Sheet Cables – Served Krout

12 noon: Moderate breezes and cloudy weather
   Latitude Observed 15°..57′ South
