2 am: At 2 AM moderate breezes tacked ship to the Northward – Lightning to the Eastward
4 am: At 4 AM Tacked Ship
6 am: At 6 AM Saw the Land Bearing SSW at 7 the NE End of the Isle of Sal S¼E and the West Point SBW 6 or 7 Leagues
7 am: Saw Several Whales
8 am: Employed making points and gaskets
9 am: Washed and cleaned the Ship
10 am: Saw a Man of war bird several sheerwaters and a small Land bird – Bonettas and flying fish about
