1 pm: Strong Gale and cloudy Weather Took in the Lower Studding sails.
3 pm: Passed thro' a strong ripling of a Current this accounts for the daily Difference between the observed and log distance.
5 pm: Made the Signal and spoke the Assistant All wore, particular Enquiry made after Mr Gore who had been very ill since leaving St Helena but was now getting better. A Careys chicken seen in the Evening.
10 pm: The Assistant ahead carrying all possible sail; we carrying a proper Quantity to keep her in that Station
4 am: Fresh Gale and hazey Weather
5 am: At Day break made more sail
6 am: Saw Albacores and flying fish
8 am: Ditto Weather Cleared between Decks and washed the Ship fore and aft – Aired with Fires in the Cockpit – At 9 Out 2nd reefs and set the Fore Top Mast Studding sail.
11 am: Sailmakers repairing the Studding sails – A Cask of Spruce Beer today for the People.
12 noon: At Noon Fresh Breezes and fine Weather hazey about the Horizon
