Flinders's Providence Logbook Nov 19, 1792

Remarks Monday November 19th 1792 Providence

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes & Cloudy Weather

 2 pm: Saw a large Flock of Pintada Birds and Sheerwaters

 4 pm: Ditto Weather The Assistant considerably astern, obliged to shorten Sail for her.

 6 pm: In Top Gallant sails and 1st reefs – The Assistant came up, spoke her, all well on board

 8 pm: Dark cloudy Sky to the Westward

 9 pm: Set the Fore topmast Studding sail

11 pm: Squally

12 mid: Fresh Breeze & Cloudy

 3 am: Light rain

 4 am: Cloudy Weather and hazey.

 5 am: Out 1st reefs and made all Sail.

 7 am: Saw a few Birds

 8 am: Fresh Breezes & Cloudy Weather

 9 am: Carpenters caulking in the great Cabbin – People picking Oakum & about the rigging Saw a Shoal of Killers and two Spermaceti Whales playing upon the Water about a Mile distant Our first Lieutenant says upon the Occasion
"Two Whales were seen upon the Sea
"Wagging their Tails in Extacy.
Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer

12 noon: At Noon Moderate Breezes & hazey Weather
Assistant in Company Sun only seen at Intervals being generally clouded.
