Flinders's Providence Logbook Oct 29, 1792

Remarks Monday October 29th 1792 H.M.S. Providence

 1 pm: Fresh Gale and fair Weather with Haze

 2 pm: Saw some Sheerwaters

 4 pm: Cloudy

 6 pm: Took in the Lower Studding sail

 8 pm: Fresh Breeze and cloudy Weather

 9 pm: Made and shortened Sail occasionally to keep the Assistant ahead in her Station

12 mid: Ditto Weather the Air very cool

 4 am: Steady fresh Breeze and fine Weather

 5 am: Out 1st Reefs and set Top Gallant Studding sails – Upper Decks washed as usual every Morning

 8 am: Cloudy Weather Sun seen at Intervals – Cleared between Decks and washed below fore and aft. Destroyed many Cockroaches – Sailmaker repairing the Top gallant sails – People employed upon occasional Duty

12 noon: At Noon Fresh Breeze and fine Weather with a slight Haze
