Flinders's Providence Logbook Sep 26, 1792

Remarks Wednesday 26th Towards Island Timor

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes and fair Weather

 2 pm: People rounding and worming the Cables in the rubbed Parts

 4 pm: Saw a Shoal of Dolphins

 5 pm: Before Dark – In Studding sails Top Gallant sails and 2nd reefs Spoke the Assistant – All well on board nothing remarkable

 8 pm: Fine clear Weather

 9 pm: The Assistant considerably ahead – Set Top Gallant sails

12 mid: Moderate Breezes and fine Weather

 4 am: Cloudy

 5 am: At Day break Fine clear – Out reefs and made all Sail, Saw a Tropic Bird and a Flock at a Distance of the Plover Kind

 9 am: At 9 Sent the Whale boat on board the Assistant for Lieutenant Portlock – Employed in the Fore Hold filling Salt Water and getting fresh to Hand – the rest of the People employed about the Cables

12 noon: At Noon Moderate Breezes & fine Weather
