3 pm: At ½ past 3 the Weather cleared saw the high round Island from SW to S18°W
4 pm: Fresh Breezes and thick rainy Weather
5 pm: At 5 the Island bore SEbE½E
6 pm: At 6 Hard Squalls Up Courses and close reefed the Topsails
8 pm: Thick rainy Weather with Lightning – Wore Ship per Signal which the Assistant answered as usual
12 mid: Fires all Night to dry Cloaths and air the Ship
2 am: Constant Rain
4 am: Wore Ship per Signal
6 am: Weather rather clearer Saw the Island bearing SSE 5 Leagues ½ past 6 Bore away – Out 2nd Reefs set Top Gallant sails and Larboard Studding sails
8 am: Moderate Breezes & Cloudy Weather At ¼ past 9 the high mountainous Island bore SEbE½E 44 Miles at which Time Observations for the Apparent Time were taken – Cleared between Decks and washed below fore and aft – Aired the Cockpits with Fires – Sailmakers repairing the Boats sails
12 noon: At Noon Fresh Breeze and Cloudy Weather
