1 pm: Moderate Breezes and fair Weather Blows fresh in the Offing
3 pm: At 3 Sprung up a light Breeze from the Eastward – wighed and came to Sail under Double reefed topsail. falling little Wind, the Boats sent a head to tow – At 5 Got into the Breeze. Hove to and hoisted in the Boats Point Venus S51°E – At 7 3rd reefed the Top Sails – The King, Queen and several Chiefs on board – Fresh Gales Close reefed the Fore and Handed the Mizen topsail
12 mid: Fresh Gales & Cloudy – Wore Ship
3 am: At ½ past 3. Wore Ship the Land about Otoo's Horns bearing S by E
6 am: At 6 Wore Ship, Eastermost Land SE – Northmost of Morea SW by W½W
8 am: At 8 Standing in for Otaheite distant 6 or 7 Miles
10 am: At 10 Hove to, lowered down and sent the Whale boat to land the Oteheitean Chiefs – more moderate Weather Out 3 and 4 reefs
12 noon: At Noon the Whale boat returned, Hoisted her in – Point Venus S85°East Heads of Tarra S51° to 44°E distant about 3 Miles – Fresh Gale and fair Weather – Assistant in Company
