Bond's Providence Logbook Jul 1, 1793

Remarks &c Monday 1st July 1793

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and fine weather

 2 pm: At [blank] shortened sail and sent the cutter for Lieutenant Portlock – made sail

 5 pm: Exercised great Guns – Worked the pumps. – Cloudy with showers of rain. Saw a Water Spout to the Southward. Sent the boat on board with Lieutenant Portlock. in 1st. reef and hoisted in the Cutter &c.

 8 pm: Light airs and cloudy

11 pm: Lightning to the Northward

12 mid: Ditto Weather

 4 am: Fine weather At day light the Assistant Antelope, Thomas & Clementson in company. Albacores, Flying-fish, Tropic birds, & gulf-weed seen.

 7 am: Out 1st. reef and set royals. Served the usual breakfast.

 8 am: Light breezes and fine weather cleaned below, shifted the ships companies Hammocks and aired their Bedding. Served sour Krout – Opened a Cask of Pork, and broached a puncheon of Spruce beer.

12 noon: At Noon moderate breezes and fine weather – Assistant Antelope and two Guinea-men in company
