4 pm: At 4 Tacked ship; Bowden Hill N½W. East End N47°E, off shore 4 or 5 miles. At 4.30 Tacked ship.
5 pm: At 5 Tacked ship – Worked the Pumps as usual. Sunset, the East End N59°E. Yelhas point W¾S. Bowden Hill N3°W, off shore 1 mile.
8 pm: Tacked ship off Morant Harbour, being too late to go in – At 6 Hour.10 Minutes Bowden Hill NWbN, 2½ miles. At 9 Tacked ship
12 mid: At Midnight Tacked ship
1 am: At 1 Hour.30 Minutes AM Tacked ship, and hauled up the Courses.
4 am: At 4 wore ship and set ye Courses.
5 am: At 5 Hour.30 Minutes Bowden Hill N50°W – Extremes of the Land N23°E to WbN, off shore 6 or 7 miles
6 am: At 6.30 Tacked ship; Wilsons Key, at the entrance of the Harbour WNW, off shore 1½ miles.
7 am: At 7.20 hove to, head to the Eastward. Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast
8 am: At 8 extremes of the Land NE½N to W½S, Rocky point NbW, off shore 2 miles. At 8 Hour.30 Mintues filled the Main Top Sail and Tacked ship. At 9 hove to. At ½ past 9 wore ship. At 10 wore ship and stood for Port Morant At ½ past, haule round the East point of the Harbour – At 10 Hour.55 Minutes brought up with the Best Bower in 7 fathoms. Furled sails, and hoisted out the Boats. bearings, Fort WbS. W. Pinnocks House NEbE½E. Entrance of the Harbour SSE – Veered to ⅓ of a Cable, and had only 17 feet water under the stern. Found lying here the Duckenfield, Lord Rodney, and another West Indiaman. The Lord Rodney sent her Launch to our Assistance. Captain Bligh went on shore.
