1 pm: Fresh breezes and fair weather Up Top Gallant Yards out 2nd reef Mizen Top Sail and set Top Gallant Sails
5 pm: Worked the Pumps.
6 pm: Cloudy – Saw Albatrosses, Sheerwaters, and a Cape Hen. In Top Gallant Sails.
8 pm: Fresh breezes and fair weather with a chopping sea
10 pm: Set Top Gallant Sails.
12 mid: Hauled up the Courses to prevent wearing them out – Light airs
3 am: Cloudy, with a Dew falling
4 am: Fine clear weather saw a shark and 3 Devil fish with many Blubber and coloured Paticles of Blue & Green (gelatinous substances).
6 am: Employed all the morning in filling and stocking down salt water into the Fore Hold. Served the usual Breakfast – with Sour Krout at the rate of ½ a pint each man as customary – Sailmakers repairing the Top Gallant Sails as before
11 am: Light airs, made all sail – Made the Dinner Signal to the Brig
12 noon: Light breezes and fine weather Assistant in company – The Plants
in good order.
