1 pm: Fresh breezes and squally weather at ¼ past 12 bore up – set Top Gallant sails – distant off shore about 5 miles – At 1 the Land bore SE½E distant about 8 miles set steering sails.
4 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather
6 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual – In steering sails 1 reef Main & Mizen Top Sails & 2nd reef Fore Top Sail
8 pm: Fresh breezes and fair weather handed Main Sail
10 pm: Squally, in 2nd reef Main Topsail
12 mid: Fresh breezes & fair weather
4 am: Fine Trade wind – Made sail set steering sails
8 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast. Cleaned below – Exercised the Boats Crews at firing with small Arms – Armourer at work at the Foge – people mending their Clothes Passed by a small piece of board about 6 feet long Served Portable Soup & Bore Cole in the Pease for Dinner – Sweet Wort & Sour Krout as usual
