1 pm: Moderate breezes and fair weather washed between Decks with boiling on the Beams &c to kill Cockroaches which were beginning to breed in the Galley – Lost a Log and Line – A great swell from the Southward
6 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual – In steering sails and 1 reef Top Sails – Set Fore Top Mast Steering sail.
8 pm: Fresh breezes and fair weather – saw a Sheerwater.
12 mid: Squally with light showers, in Fore Top Mast steering sail.
2 am: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather
5 am: Set some steering sails – Scrubbed Hammock Cloths – And at 8 people had the customary breakfast
9 am: Cleaned below and shifted the people's Hammocks and aired their Bedding – Served Slops & Tobacco; Sour Krout, Sweet Wort &c – Broached a Cask of Spruce Beer. Saw several Flying fish (the first for this passage) – Out 1st reef – Sailmakers making Caps for swivel [hooks?].
12 noon: Fresh trade & fair weather – Assistant in company
