Bond's Providence Logbook Mar 3, 1792

Remarks &c Saturday 3rd March 1792

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and cloudy weather saw a bird thought to be a Penguin

 4 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy – saw some rock weed.

 7 pm: Let in water & pumped it out as usual – In steering sails & 1 reef Top Sails – Up Main Sail

10 pm: Fresh gales and cloudy with light drizzling rain – In Top Gallant Sails

12 mid: Squally In 2nd reef Top Sails

 4 am: Ditto Weather set Top Gallant Sails & Mainsail

 7 am: Out 2nd reef Top Sails – Thick Portable Soup Gruel for the peoples breakfast

 9 am: Cleaned below and aired with fires – Saw Albatrosses, Silver birds and a Cape Hen – Served Krout & Sweet Wort. Sailors employed washing & mending their Clothes. Sailmakers mending Main Top Sail – Served Mustard to the ships company 1 [?] men.

12 noon: Fresh breezes & Cloudy Assistant in company.
