Bond's Providence Logbook Jan 31, 1792

Remarks &c towards New Holland 31st January 1792

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and cloudy weather

 6 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy saw Albatrosses Cary Chicken, Sheerwaters &c. Let in, and pumped out water as usual – At 7 dark cloudy sky in steering sails & 1 & 2 reefs Topsails – Handed Mainsail. A high swell from the Westward the ship rolling very deep.

12 mid: Fresh gales and squally in 3rd reef Fore Top Sail

 2 am: Rain.

 4 am: Dark cloudy weather – set Main Top Gallant Sail

 6 am: Out 3 reef Fore Top Sail – Handed Main Top Gallant Sail.

 7 am: Flying showers of rain

 8 am: Served the usual Breakfast – Fresh gales & squally, got down Main Top Gallant Yard and unbent the sail to repair – In 3 reef. Served Wort and Sout Krout.

12 noon: Strong gales & cloudy – Assistant in company
   No Observation
