Tuesday 13th – Moderate breezes and fair weather At 10 Calm – 1 AM light airs and clear weather received Mutton &c. Washed the Gun and Orlop Decks. Arrived here a Dutch Indiaman and two French vessels – Moderate breezes and fine weather
Wednesday 14th – Ditto Weather laced the Mats on the Yards. Cloudy – sat up Top Mast Backstays. Carpenters employed Caulking the Quarter Deck – Sailmakers mending the Mainsail – Cleaned below. Exercised the Marines at Small arms – received fresh Mutton &c &c – Moderate and pleasant weather
Thursday 15th. – Moderate and hazy weather At 4, Fresh gales down Top Gallant Yards – At 7, strong gales with heavy squalls, struck Top Gallant Masts, lower Yards and Top Masts – overhauled a range of the sheet Cable – 4 AM. fresh gales and clear weather People employed making Mats and Gaskets. received and served, fresh Mutton, soft Bread, &c. as usual – Hard gales and clear weather
Friday 16th Fresh gales and hazy weather. People employed occasionally –
At 8, clear weather with strong squalls off the land – 12, more Moderate – 8 AM.
Moderate breezes and clear weather swayed up the Top Masts, lower Yards and Top Gallant Masts –
Loosed Sails to dry, sat up the Top Mast and Top Gallant rigging. Arrived an American ship, bound
to the East. Handed sails. Served fresh Mutton &c. – Moderate breezes and fine, tho' cloudy weather
