Providence Logbook Jul 24, 1793

Remarks Wednesday 24th July 1793 Towards England

 1 pm: Strong Gales and thick Wetting Mist.

 4 pm: Saw some Grampuses. Some Sheerwaters.

 8 pm: Fresh Gale and very Wet Mist

10 pm: Moderate Breezes. Set Top Gallant Steering Sails and Royals.

12 mid: In Royals and Steering Sails

 2 am: Set Steering Sails the larboard Side.

 4 am: Moderate and Cloudy

 8 am: Served Hot Breakfast as usual. Saw a Whale Some Sheerwaters and Fish.

 9 am: Cleaned below and Aired with Fires. Exercised Great Guns & Small Arms & fired 10 rounds, a full Cartridge divided into 10 Parts.

12 noon: Light Breezes and fair Weather. Some Sheerwaters & Fish.
  Assistant and Ships in Company as Yesterday.
 Portable Soup and Krout in the Pease for Dinner
