Providence Logbook Jul 3, 1793

Remarks Wednesday 3rd July 1793 Towards England

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes and fine Weather. Unbent the Cables and Stowed the Anchors.

 4 pm: At 4 this Afternoon died Thomas Hart, Cooper of the Ship. A Worthy honest Man. From a Cold which he caught at Bluefields, he was seized with a Fever on the 22d of June.

 7 pm: In Royals and Top Gallant Steering Sails. We out Sail the Packet and Ships in Company.

 4 am: Set Royals and Top Gallant Steering Sails.

 6 am: Saw a Sloop standing to the NNW.

 8 am: Hot Breakfast as usual.

 9 am: Cleaned below. committed the Body of the deceased to the deep

10 am: Exercised Great Guns and Small Arms. Sailmakers employed mending Sails

12 noon: Fine Weather and Hazy. Assistant, Packet and two Guinea Men in Company.
 Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer for the Ships Company.
