Providence Logbook Jun 20, 1793

Remarks Thursday 20th June 1793 Off Cape Antonio

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes & Cloudy Weather with hard Squalls of Rain.

 2 pm: Shortned Sail occasionally

 4 pm: The Extremes of the land from NWbW½W near Cape Antonio, to NNE½E off shore 7 or 8 Miles

 6 pm: Saw a Strange Sail standing to the Westward, supposed a Brig

 7 pm: At 7 False Cape EbN and Cape Antonio NWbW

 8 pm: Stood off and on under Double Reefed Top Sails. Setting the Fore Sail to tack Ship and then hauling it up

12 mid: Tacked

 3 am: Tacked

 6 am: Hazy Weather. At ½ past 6 Bore away Cape Antonio NWbW½W False Cape NE½E, off Shore 2 Miles

 8 am: Made Sail. Bearings nearly the same

 9 am: Employed Exercising Great Guns and Small Arms.

10 am: Sailmakers repairing the Jib.

11 am: Made Sail. Spoke the Jane from Kingston bound to Philedelphia a letter of Mark 12 Guns

12 noon: Fair Weather Cape Antonio SE½E 5 or 6 Miles Mangrove point ENE off shore 3 Miles
  Eight Sail in Company including ourselves
 No appearance of the Honduras Fleet I suspect they are past.
