1 pm: Blowing very hard with Squalls of Rain and as much as we could do to keep under the lee of the Island. Three Cannoes came of[f] to us.
5 pm: Bore away. The extremes of the Island from S86°E to S9°E Round Hill S56°E off Shore 4 or 5 Miles and the Westermost Key and part of the Reef S15°W.
8 pm: In 3rd Reefs.
12 mid: Strong Gales and Squally with Rain and a great Sea from the SE.
6 am: Out 3rd Reefs.
8 am: Very boisterous Weather and much Sea.
9 am: Cleaned and Washed below. Employed fitting a New Fore Sail and Fore Top Sail, Carpenters about the Boats.
10 am: Served Fresh Pork as Yesterday & begun to serve Bread (our Plantains being all expended) at ⅔ allowance.
12 noon: Ditto Weather. Under Single Reefs. Saw Tropic Birds, much Sea and boisterous Weather
