Very Squally and Strong Gale. –
4 pm: Close Reefed the Main & handed Fore Top Sail
6 pm: Worked the pumps as usual.
8 pm: Fresh Gales & Fair Weather. Fires all Night to Air Ship.–
10 pm: Lightning.
12 mid: The Head Sea prevents us making more Sail
2 am: Much Lightning in the NE.
4 am: Fresh Breezes and Fair Weather made more Sail.
6 am: Out all Reefs and set Steering Sails. –
8 am: Served Portable Soup &c as Yesterday & Sweet Wort–
9 am: Exercised Great Guns & Small Arms, and the Marines fired 10 rounds a Man.—
11 am: Sailmakers repairing Sails – Carpenters the Boats – Boatswain working up Junk
12 noon: Moderate and pleasant Weather Assistant Spares us her Steering Sails.—
Broached a puncheon of Spruce BNeer for the Ships Company. –
