1 pm: A Hard Gale and thick Misty Weather and much Sea —
2 pm: Seals, Rock Weed, & many Oceanic Birds.
4 pm: The Wind not so Strong. Set the Fore Sail —
6 pm: Light Rain. Let fresh Water into the Ship and pumped it out as usual to ventilate the Ship – Kept Fires in all Night. —
11 pm: Set the Fore Top Sail
3 am: Shortned Sail for the Assistant occasionally
4 am: Strong Gales and thick Misty Weather —
6 am: Wind moderating made more Sail
7 am: Saw Cape Hens and a Seal. —
8 am: Fresh Gale and Wt misty Weather. Served a Hot breakfast as usual – Sweet Wort at 10 OClock Krout as usual. —
10 am: Cleaned and dried with Fires —
12 noon: Moderate and thick Rainy Weather a High following Sea – Under Double
Reefed Top Sails & Fore Sail
Broached a puncheon of Spruce Beer for the people. —
