1 pm: Moderate Breezes and fair Weather, so that we were able to get Double Altitudes for the Latitude
3 pm: Caught a Porpoise
4 pm: Many Albetrosses on the Water and many Sheerwaters, small Blue petterals flying about
6 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and worked the pumps as usual. —
8 pm: A fine Night but a heavy Dew falling which like small Rain wetted my glasses so that it prevented my making some observations.
12 mid: Dark Cloudy Weather
4 am: Cloudy Weather and foggy Horizon
5 am: Much Rock Weed seen, some Divers, Seals, Whales, Porpoises, a Cape Hen, Albetrosses and Sheerwaters —
8 am: Foggy, but became Fair after 8 OClock
9 am: Thick Gruel and Portable Soup for Breakfast. Sweet Wort at 10 OClock. Bore Cole in the Pease for Dinner. Krout a half pint per Man as usual. —
10 am: Cleaned Ship and Aired with Fires
12 noon: Fresh Breezes & Cloudy Weather and bright intervals got a good
observation.—
