Tuesday 8th Untill the Morning fine Weather, when with severe Squalls & much Rain The day terminated as moderate as in the beginning.
Sent people to Sick Quarters, and Boats on the necessary duties of the Ship– Received Fresh Mutton Greens & Soft Bread for the use of the Ships Company.—
Wednesday 9th Moderate & fair Weather. Employed in the Holds & about the Rigging. Sailed a French Ship for Europe. Received provisions and Greens.
Thursday 10 Very Strong Winds. Employed about the Rigging and Holds, and the Carpenters Caulking the Main Deck.—
Friday 11 Fair Weather with fresh Winds & Calms. Ships draught of Water forward

Sent the Old Main Sail on Shore & fixed a Tent. Sent Empty water Casks on Shore to be
repaired & fitted. Received Fresh Mutton &c. —
Saturday 12 Fair Weather and pleasant Breezes with some Calms. Sent Cooper & Sailmakers on Shore to repair Casks & Sails. Received Mutton Greens & Soft Bread. Hands Employed about the Rigging. Artificers Employed Caulking from the Shore.—
Sunday 13 Moderate Weather with light Winds & some Foggy Weather. Swayed up the Yards and Top Masts, & set the Rigging up. Breamed the Bends and tarred and blacked. Received on board Fresh Mutton Greens & Soft Bread. PM Artificers from the Shore Employed Caulking—Mustered Ships Company.—
Monday 14 Light Breezes and pleasant Weather. AM Arrived a French Guinea Man
from Mozambique, & an English Whaler. Sent a Tent for the Gunner on Shore to dry the Powder,
and to enable us to Air the Magazine.
Five Artificers employed from the Shore and our people Caulking as
before. Employed in the Holds & about the Rigging. Fresh Meat as usual
Tuesday 15 Fair Weather & Moderate Breezes—Received Water on Board – AM sent the Powder on Shore. Fresh Meat Greens & Soft Bread for the Ships Company as usual. Artificers from the Shore Employed Caulking with our own People as before—
Wednesday 16 Variable Weather with some Rain. Artificers and our own Carpenters employed as before. Received on Board Water. Fresh Meat Greens and Soft Bread as before. Cleaned Ship —
Thursday 17 Fresh Breezes and fair Weather. Employed in the Holds Stowing Provisions. Sailed the French Brigantine for the Isle of France. Artificers and our own Carpenters Employed Caulking and other duties of the Ship as before. —
